Our Mosque
The New Zealand Muslim Association (NZMA) comprises four mosques and Islamic centres across the Auckland region, serving the spiritual, educational, and social needs of the Muslim community.
The first mosque established was Al-Masjid Al-Jamie -Ponsonby, followed by Avondale Islamic Centre, then Masjid Al-Rahman – Ranui, and Birkenhead Islamic Centre on the North Shore. Each of these centres has played an important role in supporting the growth of the Muslim community and providing a welcoming place for worship, learning, and community gatherings.
Our mosques provide facilities for daily congregational prayers, Jumu’ah (Friday) prayers, Islamic education, and special religious activities throughout the year, including programmes during the blessed month of Ramadan. They also serve as places where families, youth, and individuals can come together to strengthen their faith, build meaningful relationships, and support one another.
Through the dedication of our community, volunteers, and supporters, NZMA continues to uphold Islamic values, promote unity, and provide services that benefit both Muslims and the wider community. We are committed to maintaining our mosques as welcoming places of worship where people can learn, grow, and connect with their faith.
Alhamdulillah, we are grateful for the continued support and contributions of our community, which help us preserve our Islamic heritage and serve future generations. May Allah accept everyone’s efforts and continue to bless our mosques and the communities they serve. Ameen.
